Seoul’s foremost street-wear purveyor puts a luxe twist on the perennial PUMA classic

In 1992, PUMA developed the ground-breaking style featuring the Disc Closure System that made it quicker and less tedious for athletes to wear running shoes. The PUMA Disc, part of the Trinomic family, was sought-after for its comfort-boosting clicks and unique innovative design. Fast forward to this day, the PUMA Disc has found its way to the streets, becoming a staple in street-wear movement and urban fashion scene. The Disc has been interpreted many times, in hundreds of colour-ways and makes but still remains super fresh.

This season, PUMA teams up with Kasina, Seoul-based sneaker store and one of the world’s leading street culture brand, to add a touch of sophistication to the classic. The result is two exquisite styles of the PUMA Disc Luxthat takes cues from high fashion but maintains a street-wear appeal. The Disc Lux C is designed with a pristine white quilted soft leather upper caged in caramel and chocolates hues. The Disc Lux G combines fine leather and suede material with a familiar ruby and dark green colou-rway. Both styles hold the original cushionCELL mid-sole for absolute comfort.

“What started as performance sneakers, the Disc transitioned into a street culture icon. We wanted to transform the Disc into something fresh and current. Remaking the style with a high-end concept in mind was our way of putting a Kasina stamp on the classic. We are pleased with the end result – a sneaker that looks very stylish but also comfortable.“ states the Kasina creative team.

The PUMA Disc Lux pack will be sold exclusively at Kasina Stores on 20th September 2014 followed by a global release.
Available in the UK at Footpatrol, Hanon Shop & End Clothing from 4th September 2014.
