King Apparel – British streetwear company. Spring/Summer 2013 Lookbook.

Entering their 10th year, British streetwear company King Apparel mark this milestone with their first lookbook of 2013 showcasing their Spring/Summer collection. Shot in and around the fringes of the now locked down Olympic park which lies on the doorstep of the King HQ and the spiritual birthplace of the label in Stratford, it showcases a selection of pieces from both the drop1 and drop2 releases, against a backdrop that still echoes the East End that lies outside the high fences of Olympic excess. Notable standouts are of course the headwear collection that comprises the original Starter black label caps still made on the original retro block, the introduction of pinch panel and 6-panel hybrid snapbacks and an expansion of the 5-panel camp cap line. With nearly 30 hats in the line for SS13, this is a substantial offering by any brands standards. Some interesting fabric uses have also been adopted including the tech jacket camo on the shoulder panels of the Militia crew and 5-panel bill, combinations of black suede, black cotton melange and twill on the Insignia 5-panel and of course the custom tiger camo on the RS range. One should also not forget the commemorative ’03 till infinity’ pieces, a clever take on making the 10year landmark whilst paying homage to the influences of the iconic Souls Of Mischief and their album ’93 ’til infinity’ The entire collection can be purchased online at
